Ferry Booking & Ticketing Software

Why passenger places and vehicle length need separate checks.

Choose capacity rules that reflect the vehicles you carry. A count of passenger tickets cannot describe the space needed by cars, trailers and larger transport units.

Identify the booking inputs

Define the vehicle categories and dimensions your service uses. Include trailers and combinations where they change the required length.

Two changes can affect capacity in different ways

An additional traveller changes the passenger requirement. A longer trailer changes the vehicle requirement. Either change may happen without the other. In configured Travelmanager ferry setups, those checks are separate. Review the relevant limit for the chosen journey and do not interpret free passenger places as proof that any vehicle combination can be accepted.

  • Configured vehicle length requirement
  • The operating limits beyond the booking model

Keep passenger and vehicle checks separate

In Travelmanager ferry setups configured for length-based bookings, vehicle length and passenger availability are checked separately. An available passenger place does not imply that any vehicle can be added.

Recheck amendments

A replacement vehicle or added trailer may change both capacity demand and fare. Review the updated requirement before confirming the changed booking.

Respect the limit of a booking model

Deck layout, lane assignment, cargo restrictions and loading safety need their own operational decisions or specialist systems. Do not equate a length-based limit with a complete graphical loading plan.
